The Dragon Baits Summer Qualifier events are becoming more and more popular each year with anglers travelling far and wide tofish some of the best beaches and estuaries in Wales. Venue 3 Swansea breakwater

Venue 3 Swansea Breakwater Sunday 21st June,  fishing 3:30-8:30pm

Anglers Met and registered at the HQ Mc Donald's Fabian way 13:30pm

Anglers then made their way to the security gate where they were checked off

and proceeded to the Breakwater wall.Anglers parked carefully and sensibly

and made their way onto the Swansea Breakwater, where they were assigned to

their drawn fishing peg. Light west  South westerly winds had no affect on the sea

state today although overcast sunny interludes made fishing conditions perfect.

fish caught today ranged from Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Red Gurnard, Turbot,

Starry Smooth hound, Common Smooth Hound and of course a Bass.

Despite it being fathers day and there being another fishing competition at St Brides, SWWASAC still managed to get 31 anglers on Swansea Breakwater for the 3rd round of its summer qualifiers last Sunday. Expectations were high as Swansea Breakwater has not been fished for over a decade. Last years qualifier did include this venues one of its matches and some massive lengths of fish were recorded. Overall lengths of bags were down on last year however the quality of fish were better. Bags were made up of Dogfish, Gurnards, Turbot, Bass and Smooth hounds. Longest fish was an impressive 91cm Smooth hound by Mal George of Llanelli.
