SWWASAC has been in existence since 1981 and has gone from strength to strength. Achieving a new outlook on angling and promoting Catch & Release (C&R) within its own Competition scene.

In 1981 a few local anglers who fished the Seas of Swansea and the beautiful sandy beaches of the Gower coastline decided that they had to try and prevent the rapid decline of the fish stocks with in our seas. These people met once a month in local Pubs and discussed the need to set up a guide above that of the Fisheries. In order to set a guide they recorded measurements and weights of all the fish they landed, this then formulated a size list and this was adopted as a guide by many anglers within the area. Since 1981 fish sizes within the Association have increased this might sound good but in fact the increase is due to the decline in numbers of these species which are being targeted by all types of fishermen and women. Twenty nine years on and we are still looking at fish sizes as well as their habitat's which we must Preserve in order to achieve Conservation. We are for you we are SWWASAC.
